One last note, I shut down the comments on this post because I was receiving some inappropriate responses. I am willing to have a debate on the merits of any subject, but I will not tolerate personal attacks.

To reiterate, I believe the winner to be a talented young artist. I was glad that he won.

If I do have a criticism, it’s not directed towards the artist but the 3 month constraint imposed by the reality show. Can any artist complete a body of work in 3 months worthy of a solo exhibition in a major museum? I’m not sure. but I think not.

I watched the episode that featured Andres Serrano as a guest judge. Serrano, ehh, uhh . . . whatever. I’ll skip a long-winded rant and just say that I’m not sophisticated enough to be impressed by blood, urine, semen, feces, controversy or shock for shock’s sake in art.

Cool drawing, I’ll go check out the NYTimes article. I think it is a good thing that a more traditional artist won.

Did the art director for the NYTimes contact you yet? What is he/she doing? At least the Arts section could do a cool highlight of your blog.
