Recently my mother came to me wanting to create a quilt using these drawings. My mom has practiced needlecraft most of her life, making clothing, sewing curtains, upholstering furniture, crocheting blankets and creating needlepoint. It wasn’t until after she retired that she began to learn the art of quilt making. She has since become an accomplished quilter, making exquisitely made objects that are equally at home on top of a bed, draped over an arm chair, or displayed on a wall.

The resulting collaboration by mother and son is a one-of-a-kind instant family heirloom that literally was years in the making. It contains over 500 drawings and 250 separate pieces of fabric. I can’t thank my mom enough for lovingly crafting this quilt. It will warm our hearts and beds for generations to come.
