I heard that Picasso was always quite generous with his work, but that he ALWAYS, in ledgers, dated and gave annotated info on whom his gifts went to, etc, and his family says there’s no way all of these would have “escaped” this way. I tend to believe the kids in this instance.

Not sure if they could prove it since Picasso is dead, but if I were a working man with children, I don’t think I would wait until I was on my deathbed to cash in the fortune I had in my garage and improve my families lot. Sitting in the garage he wasn’t enjoying them for their aesthetics so why did he keep it a secret for so long? My guess is he used his access while putting in the alarm to help himself to some art.
