I found it strange that Maliki’s political capital would rise after he started to act like a dictator by rounding up his political rivals, but I guess it’s all relative.

On GW, Our 15th president James Buchanan, generally recognized as the worst American president, on the day before he died predicted that “history will vindicate my memory.”
Well, 150 years have passed, and while GW might not be in Buchanan territory, I might not see the day that history vindicates him.

PM Nuri Kamal al-Maliki seems like a practical man. Unfortunately his constituents are human, waiting 40+ years to be like Switzerland, France or the Italians will not keep diverse groups content.

I wonder if he knows that Obama is the 1st “Food Stamp” President.

Another note, while history has not been kind towards Carter’s presidency I think give or take a decade or two . . . G. W. Bush will be viewed differently. Or maybe not.
