Single issue voters have always stuck in my craw. Agreeing with them on one issue gives pols license to do whatever the eff they want without consequence.

I always liked former New York City mayor Ed Koch's take on single issue voters. he'd say "If you agree with me on 9 out of 12 issues, you should vote for me, If you agree with me on 12 out of 12 issues, you should see a psychiatrist."

Jimmy McMillan is the ultimate one issue candidate and he's not afraid to where it on his sleeve. He's running for Governor of New York and has formed The Rent Is Too Damn High Party.
