Jon Kyl earned a law degree from the University of Arizona's James E Rogers College of Law. A second generation politician, Kyl was a lobbyist before being elected to the house in 1986. He served in congress until 1995 when he won election to the US Senate. He is ranked as the 4th most conservative senator by the National Journal and has signed the no tax pledge (which makes you wonder how he will compromise with six democrats.) Kyl's  staunch pro life views landed him in the news recently when he went on the house floor and claimed that performing abortions is "well over 90 percent of what Planned Parenthood does." In fact, only 3 percent of Planned Parenthood's undertakings are abortion related with 90 percent going towards providing contraceptives, STD and cancer testing and treatment.

Patty Murray is a Democrat appointed to the important super committee. The self proclaimed mom in tennis shoes, Murray has a BA in phys ed and was a preschool teacher and an environmental lobbyist before entering politics.  Murray has never sat on the financial committee and is not generally recognized to have an expertise in the area. The fact that she is chair of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has raised some eyebrows and no doubt,  the appointment has raised her standing on K Street.

Too bad I can't animate this because when I move my thumb, I can sort of make her wink.

Okay...I was in a mad rush this morning to get to a few photo-shoots. Thanks Ricky for sending me that email about how to create an gif animation using layers. Sarah's makeup may have gotten a little smeared riding in my palm all day, but here's my attempt to make Sarah wink.

Commercials aired during the Super Bowl have a history of generating more buzz than the game itself. With 90-plus million viewers, ad agencies break out the top guns. This year CBS has agreed to air a controversial anti-abortion, pro-life ad, paid for by the conservative Christian group Focus on the Family. The ad features college football superstar Tim Tebow and his mom Pam Tebow. Tim has led his Florida Gators to their second national championship in three years. Twenty two years ago, while Pam was pregnant, she contracted amoebic dysentery. The prescribed medicines threatened her unborn fetus and doctors advised her to abort the fetus. Pam ignored the doctors advice and gave birth to the future Heisman trophy winner.

What are we to conclude?
