It was heartbreaking to hear of the number of newly orphaned children in Haiti. I can't even imagine the fear, grief, and confusion that these children are feeling but I hope the U.S. can maintain the momentum of the fundraising efforts.
We Americans have short attention spans. I made a contribution to UNICEF, and they've been sending me email updates. The cynic in me knows that it's a fund raiser, but I do like being kept abreast of the progress after attention wanes.
