He hasn't made it official, but Newt is running for president.
With five potential republican candidates on the payroll, Fox News has let go of Gingrich and Santorum.
Imaging how bitter the pill, if Fox were forced to give Obama time equal to the accumulated air of Gingrich, Santorum, Palin, Huckabee and Bolton?

Something tells me the coming election year will be even more entertaining than the 2008. Palin is seriously running?
I don't think Palin wants to be president, she just knows her income in based on people believing she does.
I agree. When I heard about Newt again, all I could think was just: Oh, goodie.
Thank Goodness we don't have a government (yet) that forces such a thing.
Well, actually Bill, there is such an equal time rule that specifies broadcast station must provide equivalent opportunity to any opposing political candidates who request it. If All five potential candidates do wind up running for for president, Fox would, one by one, be forced to either let them go or give the opposition an equal amount of time.
Right. I meant accumulated previous airtime a la the fairness doctrine or the like (which is what I thought you were saying originally??). Some have argued for a re-introduction of that through legislation or FCC fiat, even outside of declared candidates, in a desire to muzzle largely right talk radio.
Well, Newt has made some news since this post, but on that day he and Santorum were let go by Fox because they will likely be candidates.
